DHYG 2035. Head/Neck Anatomy. 3 Hours.

The student will study the anatomy and physiology of the head and neck, including the bones, muscles, glandular tissue, innervation, blood supply, lymphatic drainage and temporomandibular joint. Emphasis is on location, function, nomenclature and clinical considerations of normal anatomy and variations. The course will include the anatomy of the most common local anesthetic injections and the anatomic spread of infection. Prerequisite: Admission to the Dixie State University Dental Hygiene program.
