PSY 4140. Cognitive Neuroscience. 3 Hours.

Fulfills Biological/Cognitive Psychology requirement for Psychology majors. Cognitive neuroscience uses neuroimaging techniques such as PET and fMRI to examine issues related to the mind/brain. This course covers such topics as perception and encoding, cerebral lateralization and specialization, the control of action, executive function, and the problem of consciousness. Completion of PSY 3120 is recommended before enrolling in this course. Prerequisites: PSY 1010 (Grade C or higher); AND PSY 2000 or BIOL 3110 (Grade C or higher); AND Psychology major, Biology major, or Integrated Studies Emphasis in Psychology or Biology; or instructor permission.
