Program Description
The Dixie State University Theatre program provides the tools for students to become well-rounded artists, scholars, educators, and lifelong learners. This is realized by combining comprehensive theatrical training with a strong liberal arts curriculum. Through its production season, this program gives the students a range of design, technical, and performance opportunities. It also provides the general student body and community with historically, socially, and culturally diverse theatrical experiences.

DSU General Education Requirements
All DSU General Education requirements must be fulfilled. A previously earned degree may fulfill those requirements, but courses must be equivalent to DSU’s minimum General Education standards in American Institutions, English, and Mathematics.

Graduation Requirements
- Complete a minimum of 120 college-level credits (1000 and above).
- Complete at least 40 upper-division credits (3000 and above).
- Complete at least 30 upper-division credits at DSU for institutional residency.
- Cumulative GPA 2.0 or higher.
- Grade C or higher in each Core Discipline and Discipline Depth Requirement course.

BA/BS Theatre Program Learning Outcomes
At the successful conclusion of this program, students will be able to:
1. Correlate knowledge of theatre history with different cultures, points of view and social
systems through the analysis of contemporary approaches to theatre.
2. Create thoughtful, systematic processes in artistic work.
3. Collaborate within the production process as a team member.
4. Analyze dramatic literature in order to understand and communicate the needs of a production.
5. Formulate a plan for next steps in individual career development.
